Since starting to photograph newborns almost 5 years ago there have been many photographers that I have admired and followed on the Internet and social media. I always believe it's inspirational to follow many different photographers and love seeing their work pop up in awe, hoping one day someone will say the same about my work. This is how I felt about Erin Elizabeth, she is from Perth, Australia, so I must admit I am envious of the fact that her maternity sessions on the beach always look out of this world, but I'm sure you'll all agree Wales is just as beautiful - even if it does rain... a lot!!!
In May, I went to the Newborn Photography show, which was amazing. Not only did I get to buy lots of new things for my studio and newborn sessions from amazing suppliers and actually meet some of the incredible people who have created so many of my things I use and love; I also had an afternoon training class with Erin herself.
Erin shared her photography routines, her style, her knowledge, and openly answered any questions about her wonderful busy life and how it works for her family and her business, which is always a juggle trying to be the best of everything.
As Erin soothed the newborn models - who were all cute as can be - we discussed the elements of the photo before capturing it for ourselves - I have since seen a change in the way I angle myself since this training!
Like a famous lady, we all had a 'selfie' with Erin (sorry!!) - just had to be done - this was a very special/memorable day!!
I absolutely love photographing newborn babies, I actually find it quite therapeutic as I watch them snuggle up in a dreamy state - they are all simply beautiful. Our miracle's of life! Since having my own boys I really do appreciate they don't stay small for long and to capture all those teeny tiny details and see the proud love feeling from their parents is simply the best!
Erin, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, for being so lovely and flying all the way around the world in 3 days for our benefit. Much Love xXx
