My approach to wedding photography
Your wedding day is one of the most emotional days you’ll ever experience.
The happiness that beams from a new bride and groom as they begin their married life together is unforgettable.
Naturally, choosing your wedding photographer is an enormous decision to make, whilst planning your big day and to find the right one; there is a lot to consider.
After my own wedding in 2011, I learned to appreciate all of the tiny details that go into a wedding day and how incredible it is when it all comes together, also all those details you quickly forget once its over, as the saying goes…. “every picture has a story to tell” and the day sure does fly by! From those first glances, emotions, laugh out loud moments to walking down the aisle as husband and wife, the colourful confetti shot, celebrating with your guests and enjoying the whole day.
One question I am asked by potential clients is “how would I describe my work?”; I like to think of myself as a reportage storyteller.
My aim is to document the emotion, drama and love in a natural and timeless style, working quietly and unobtrusively around your wonderful wedding. I want to create truly unique images that capture every little detail you have worked so hard to plan. To make sure I do just that, I like to spend some time getting to know you as a couple before the wedding. You may wish to have an engagement session to familiarise yourself with the lens or we can have a chat and a coffee before you say “I DO” to run through your wedding details and I then plan around your schedule and locations of how best to capture your day as it unfolds. With me, you can relax and be reassured that there will be no forced smiles or over-posed shots.
I absolutely love to photograph weddings, there is so much that happens and I am privileged to have front row seats in seeing your story as it unfolds. As I book a limited amount of weddings each year I pride myself in giving each couple 110%, my undivided attention before, during and after your wedding.
Shooting your wedding day itself is just the beginning. So whilst you may be away on honeymoon or settling into married life, I begin the editing process, and hand edit every image that plays a part in the story of your day. I take great care in this post-production stage to create an individual finish that you will treasure forever.
